About the ISEE
The ISEE, the Independent School Entrance Examination, is also sometimes referred to as the ERB as it was developed by the Educational Records Bureau. It is used by many independent and boarding schools as a key factor in the admissions process.
Which Test You Should Take
Fourth and fifth-grade students take the Lower Level test, sixth and seventh-grade students take the Middle Level test, and eighth, ninth, tenth, and eleventh-grade students take the Upper Level test.
What Will Be On the Test
All three levels of the ISEE have the same four sections, (Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, Mathematics Achievement), each consisting of multiple-choice questions, and one unscored essay section.
Length of the Test
Each test is three hours long.
When You Should Take It
The ISEE is offered on different dates throughout the year by different independent schools. The complete list of 2011-2012 test dates by school will be posted in mid-August.
How to Register
To register, you can either visit www.ISEEtest.org or call 800-446-0320. The cost for registration is $80.00.
“Adam has taught me so many helpful things that I never thought
that I could do, from multiplying to algebra, and now I am very confident in mathematics and English.”
